Proposed Financial Assistance for the Reinstatement of Awnings and Verandahs in the Macksville CBD
Nambucca Shire Council will receive $150,000 in funding from the State Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund for a “Revitalisation and Improvement Program – Local Main Streets”. The Council has resolved to apply this funding to the reinstatement of up to six (6) heritage verandahs and awnings in the Macksville CBD. The program is part of Council’s work to encourage the activation of the floors above shops and to accentuate a heritage river town aesthetic.
The funding offer will be $ for $ with the respective property owner/s based on an existing cost estimate. In addition, the Council will make an “in-kind” donation for all council application fees.
The NSW Local Government Act provides that a council must provide public notice of at least 28 days in relation to any benefit proposed to be provided to a recipient who acts for private gain.
Any person is welcome to make a submission on this program on or before 15 March 2019.
