Media Release - Construction of Lanes Bridge, Bowraville is about to commence

Mayor, Rhonda Hoban said “The existing Lanes Bridge, Rodeo Drive, Bowraville is over 90 years old and is one of the Shire’s oldest timber bridge structures. Its replacement has been brought forward by three (3) years as Council’s financial contribution has been supplemented by State and Federal grant funds for which we are very grateful.  I am pleased to advise that the construction of the bridge is now scheduled to commence on Monday 8 October 2018, weather permitting.”

“There is a lot of interest in the bridge replacement and we will be allowing everyone to follow its progress on Council’s website www.nambucca.nsw.gov.au by searching for Lanes Bridge,” said Paul Gallagher, Assistant General Manager Engineering Services.

Matthew Leibrandt, Lanes Bridge Project Manager said, “Lanes Bridge is currently a one lane bridge under traffic light control with a 20 tonne load limit.”  “There will be periods during the construction process when a full closure of the bridge will be necessary, and appropriate signage will be erected at the following designated intersections:

“Road closure information will also be provided via Media Releases, the MyRoadInfo portal on Council’s website and an email alert to interested parties,” said Paul Gallagher.

“If you would like to register for an email alert, send your email address to lanesbridge@nambucca.nsw.gov.ausaid Mr Gallagher.
