Macksville CBD Upgrade

Update as of 10 November 2022

Council wishes to advise that works on the Macksville CBD Upgrade Project are continuing with road pavement repairs and kerb and gutter replacement works commencing on Sunday 13 November 2022.

Sunday 13 November 2022 - Sub-contractors will be undertaking concrete saw cutting in Wallace Street in preparation for removal of existing kerb and gutter. The pedestrian refuge in Wallace Street will be removed and pavement repair works to be carried out.

Monday 14 November 2022 - Preparation of the subgrade required for the new kerb and gutter, and installation of subsoil drainage will commence along the northern side of Wallace Street between Wallace Lane and Cooper Street. 

Thursday 17 November 2022 - Forming up and pouring concrete for the new kerb and gutter is expected to commence on the northern side of Wallace Street between Wallace Lane and Cooper Street. 

Traffic control will be established throughout the works as required and disruptions to local traffic is likely to occur, so expect minor delays.   

This project is co-funded by Transport for New South Wales (Fixing Local Roads Round 2) and Nambucca Valley Council.

Further updates on progress will be provided throughout the project.

NOTICE OF WORKS COMMENCING WEDNESDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2022

Council advises that Kerb and Gutter works to upgrade the Macksville CBD are scheduled to commence (weather permitting) on Wednesday 21 September 2022.

It is anticipated that the works will take one (1) week to 10 days to complete, subject to weather conditions.

Traffic management will be in place due to disruptions to local traffic and some noise is likely to occur.

Street parking in parts of the McKay Street and Princess Street area will be closed from Wednesday 21 September for the duration of construction.  It is advised that alternative parking can be accessed via Matilda Street, Winifred Street and Star Street.
